University Scholars Program

Undergraduate students from any College who wish to conduct research with a faculty member in the College of Medicine are eligible to compete for this award. Applicants must have maintained an overall GPA of 3.0 or better, and have at least one more year of undergraduate studies remaining. Students should contact a faculty member with whom they would like to conduct research and then complete the University Scholars Program application form that is available at the USP web site (http://www.scholars.ufl.edu/).

Nomination packets should be submitted by the student or faculty mentor to Mrs. Jo Drumheller (Medical Science Building, Room M134, PO Box 100239). These packets must include the following items:

  • ◦Completed University Scholars Program application form (available at the University Scholars Program home page) including the summary of the proposed research project and the supporting letter from the faculty mentor
  • ◦An official sealed copy of the student’s undergraduate transcripts, including cumulative GPA
